The young English full back has made a rapid return from injury is desperate to face Liverpool this weekend.

Taylor told the Wigan Observer: "I'm a Liverpool fan, but I haven't had the chance to play against them yet and I'd love to. I've had a couple of games for the reserves now and I'm back six weeks ahead of schedule.

"If I'd come back after the date they'd set in mid-October I would have been disappointed. I just want to start playing in the first team again - as every player does."

The former Tranmere full back is also looking forward to an injury free spell in a Latics shirt after suffering two broken legs and a broken foot during his time with the club.

"I want an injury-free career now. I've had three breaks since I've been here at Wigan. A lot of players go through their whole career without getting one," added Taylor.

"I've had my fair share of injuries, now I'm due my own fair share of luck. I've not been complaining that I've done little niggles like my calf or my hamstring. People better think twice about what they say - I've had two broken legs and a broken foot."

Meanwhile manager Chris Hutchings is pleased to see Taylor return to the fold. He said: "'m really delighted for him that he's back. He's a great character and that's a testament to him. Sometimes you come back from these things a stronger person."
