It has been a good month for the 26 year old Scot. Not only has he signed a new deal with the club but his girlfriend has given birth to his first son, Callum.

This confession of delight comes hot on the heels of his brace in the home draw with Watford and McCulloch will be in line for many fans player of the season vote.

Lee said: "I'm pleased to have reached the ten goal mark already and that means that this is my best total since joining the club. However, I desperately hope there are more goals to come and though I don't set myself any specific targets, I'd be disappointed not to get to fifteen now.

"Although I am pleased to get two goals today I have to say my main feeling in one of disappointment because I don't think we played well and that means that we see this game as two points dropped. Give credit to Watford I suppose because I thought their young players did very well and made it hard for us, but we still should have had enough about us to play better and create more chances.

"The goals I scored came from excellent crosses from Nicky Eaden and Gary Teale and I enjoy the fact that I have a licence to get in the box from the left hand side. I suppose that the fact I don't tend to get around the outside of people and that I'm naturally right footed means I'm drawn inside more, but I do tend to get a bit of joy if I can time my runs right.

"With the kind of delivery we get from wide areas I always fancy my chances of getting on the end of something and with defenders concentrating on 'Duke' and Jason, I do seem to get a bit of space. To reach double figures in January is very pleasing but now I want to go on from here.

"Although I want to get amongst the goals the most important thing is that the side keep winning and that's why we are all disappointed this evening. However, we have a bit of a break now to get ourselves together, focus our minds and prepare for what is ahead of us as we go into the most crucial stage of the season from here on in."
