Bruce said: "McCormack is one who is interesting us because he's out of
contract in the summer. At the moment, we're just having a look at him, monitoring the situation. He's one for the future really."
Meantime, Marlon King is said to be a target after his move to Fulham fell through after a failed medical. Watford are commanding a fee of over £4 million for the striker.
Coventry's Michael Mifsud is also being linked with the Latics. Currently free-scoring for the Sky Blues, the Maltese striker has attracted the attention of varoius Premier League clubs.
Coventry value the "mosquito" at £3 million but Bruce is rumoured to have offered just £1.5 million and unless either side gives way then the deal won't go through.
Bruce did however rule out a move for Independiente striker Denis. He added: "We get linked with a lot of players and you just have to take it with a pinch of salt. It's the same when you see stories linking our players with a move to other clubs. If you took much notice, it would drive you crazy."
