Strike partnership clash in Cairo

Last updated : 31 March 2009 By Michael Goodman

Emad Moteab and Zaki were the preferred partnership in the game in Cairo against Zambia and Mido has apparently had a heated argument with Zaki and claimed he would force him out of Wigan. Zaki's future has been much debated recently, with a £12m price tag put on the Egyptian which will scare off most teams in the Premier League after a barren run in front of goal.

If the rumour of the argument between the two strikers is true, Wigan fans will surely be angry with Mido with Zaki a huge fans favourite. Many would love Zaki to stay and Mido to return to Middlesbrough, with the former Tottenham and Roma striker failing to settle in so far since his January loan move.

If true, boss Steve Bruce will be fuming and demand to know what has happened, wanting the situation resolved as soon as possible with the chance of a European place still very much a possibility. All fans can do is wait and see what happens in the future between the two strikers and whether they can resolve their differences.
