Jarrett, 25, has not won his place back in the Wigan side after breaking a leg pre-season and was initially sent to the Britannia Stadium to improve his fitness.

He made such an impression on the Potteries club however that they want to take him back, either on loan or a permenant basis.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis told his club's official website: "He's definitely a player I would like to bring to the club.

"For the month we had him, he was fantastic, he's a young player with bags of energy and keen to learn."

Wigan have yet to make a comment.
