Stam annoyed with silly mistakes

After taking the lead against Fulham, the Latics conceded a soft goal that let two vital points slip for their grasp.

Dutchman Ronnie Stam believes the silly mistakes are costing the Latics and they need to be cut out.

Speaking to the press, Stam said: "It was another two points gone, and it seems to be the same story almost every week. We're 1-0 up, we're winning the game, and then we make another stupid mistake again."

The former FC Twente defender is also looking forward to this weekend's trip to the Emirates, although he knows it will be a tough test against Arsene Wenger's team.

"It's always difficult against Arsenal, particularly at the Emirates," he added. "But we'll go there with exactly the same mentality we always have, and we know it will be an open game where we will have chances.

"Everybody has to go away this week and think about their own things and see how we can make it right. Hopefully we can come away with the right result at the weekend and get a run going."
