Skoko, 29, currently plays for Genclerbirligi in Turkey and Paul Jewell is said to have made a significant bid for his services.
Skoko has spent more than 10 years playing throughout Europe, but has not played in England despite several expressions of interest.
A move to Manchester City has not long since fallen through and the midfielder has also been linked with a move to Germany.
Neither club has released a comment as yet, although an Australian website is saying the club have made a bid.
