Saviola could be used as bait in Valencia deal

Real Madrid are apparently going to offer £12m plus Argentinean striker Javier Saviola for winger Antonio Valencia. Madrid are currently being scared off at the price tag for Valencia which is estimated to be as high as £20m and want to offer Saviola as part of a deal.

With the arrival of Klass-Jan Huntelaar at Madrid, Saviola has been pushed down the pecking order so regular first team football and a chance to test himself in the Premier League could be appealing for the striker.

With the current striker situation at Wigan, where Emile Heskey and Henri Camara's futures are in doubt and Amr Zaki only on loan, the possibility to add a striker to a long term deal along with Hugo Rodallega could prove to be too tempting for Steve Bruce.

Heskey looks more and more likely to leave at the end of the season and with Zaki being linked with a whole host of top European clubs, including Real Madrid, the deal could suit both parties.

Whether this is a wild rumour or the latest stage in the pursuit for Valencia, the end of the transfer saga seems no nearer its conclusion.
