Roy Evans soon to fill coaching post

Roy Evans enjoyed four years in charge at Anfield before Gerard Houllier took over the reigns in November 1998. During his time with the Merseyside giants, he won the League Cup in 1995, and finished no lower than 4th in the Premiership. Evans also guided Liverpool to a runners-up spot in the FA Cup when they narrowly lost to Manchester United in 1996.

After retiring as Liverpool boss Evans waited a good few years before returning to football management, where he joined Swindon Town.

However, his spell with the Robins only lasted until Christmas as a new board took over at the County Ground, with horse jockey Willie Carson in the hot seat, but was unable to provide Evans with the promise of transfer money. Evans decided to quit his post on the 20th December, and has returned to work in the media.

There is a good chance that Evans could be he new coach. I suppose it's a case of watch this space, you'll hear it here first.
