Tuesday's 1-0 win at Birmingham City was enough to guarantee the Latics a place in the end of season playoffs and Uwe Rosler is refusing to get carried away.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post the Latics boss said: "We're excited but we're not over excited.

"We remain focussed and we hnow where we want to be after May 24th. I knew it was a realistic goal for me to reach the playoffs with the squad I had at my disposal.

"But I didn't dream tat we would get into the position with four games left of the season.

"We maybe dropped a little bit in our standards recently and, in this league, that is enoigh for the fine margins to turn against you. But we've got ourselves together, we're grouped. and the players completed a fantastic job.

"The important thing is that we are there. A lot of people said it would be impossible with the FA Cup run, but the group delivered.

"And everybody has contributed over the course of time to make sure we've overcome the first hurdle."

Opponents for the playoffs are yet to be confirmed and are dependent on the final day results with the Latics to face either Derby County or Q.P.R.
