Oriol Reira, Don Cowie, Emyr Huws, and Andrew Taylor were all named in the starting line up whilst James Tavernier was a second half substitute.

And Rosler was delighted to see the players blend into the Wigan Athletic style of play so well. In particular there was praise for Manchester City loanee Emyr Huws and new striker Oriol Reira.

“Oriol contributed with a match-deciding moment with the header for James McArthur’s goal,” Rosler told the club's official website.

“I have to praise Emyr Huws; he had only trained three days with us but he was outstanding, a fantastic performance, physically strong on the ball and he got us playing by getting the ball down in the first-half."
