Rosler demanding response

Last updated : 30 September 2014 By Paul Farrington

The Germa was furious with his players following the weekend's defeat against Bournemouth.

The result was the third defeat of the last four games for the Latics as the poor start to the campaign continued.

Tonight sees second placed Nottingham Forest visit the DW Stadium in what promises to be a tough contest.

“I named the team very early before training,” Rosler told the Wigan Evening Post. “I’ve spoken to the 13 or 14 players who will play a part against Forest and gave them reassurance and a vote of confidence to play in such a big game.

“I’ve had a lot of meetings and a lot of talking individually to them and given them reassurance.

“You have more impact when you speak one on one than when you do in front of 27, you get more feedback and they are more willing to talk.

“The players will be up for it, it’s not only me but the players have also had their professional pride hurt.”

Rosler is keen to point out that although he knows there are issues within his team and that results need to improve, but he is urging supporters for patience.

“We know that the Championship is unforgiving and certain things in the last two or three months weren’t right and we’re suffering," he added.

“There is a lot of football to be played. We have good players in who might need a bit of time who have good football backgrounds and we have to galvanise everybody.”
