Robles and Flores make debuts

Development Squad products Louis Robles and Jordan Flores made their first team debuts at Brentford on Saturday.

The pair came on as second half substitutes in what was a disappointing 3-0 loss for Gary Caldwell's men, but still a very proud moment for both players and their families.

Robles had won the Lancashire FA Youth Cup just a week earlier, scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 victory.

The two are very highly rated at the club by academy manager Gregor Rioch, under 18's head coach Peter Atherton and Development Squad coach Joe Parkinson.

Latics' fans could possibly expect to see more from Flores and Robles in next season's League One campaign, as the promotion of youth prospects may be key to the club's future.

Both Flores and Robles had previously been on the bench for the first team this year, but only made their debuts on the final day.
