Roberts, who has been starved of first team action at Wigan this season, is due to return to the JJB Stadium by the end of February but Jewell said a permanent move to Hull was not out of the question.

Here is what Jewell said to the official site...

“Hull are interested in Neil and if he does well in his time there, a permanent deal could be done,” he said.

“He needs to play first team football. He’s a good player and a smashing lad, so we wish him all the best. But the important thing is that he needs time on the field because he’s down the pecking order here.

“That’s not to say that he’s not a good striker. He works really hard every time he plays and you always know what you are going to get from Robbo. Hopefully, he will get the chance to show what he’s capable of at Hull.”
