Roberts: Going Nowhere
"Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on how the team is performing and how things are going. However, we will not stand back and let papers write stories that are completely untrue," said a club spokesman.

"They are extremely misleading and worrying to our supporters and can also be unsettling for hose at teh club. If we come across this sort of reporting again we will take action and if necessary refuse to co-operate with any paper that prints such a story."

Dave Whelan has also said that he will do his upmost to keep the 24 year old forward at the club. But his hands are tied behind his back at teh moment with talks of salary capping.

In the meantime, star pupils Leighton Baines and Ryan Yeomans have signed proffessional terms.

Baines has signed for two and a half years until 2005 and Yeomans until the end of next season.

Jewell said:" Obviously we've been impressed with both of them. Which is why we have offered them deals.

McFadden: Possible Target
"We're delightedthey've both signed proffessional forms here, but they do know that the hard work really starts now."

Meanwhile Paul Jewell has scooped the manager of the month for the second month running.

Jewell is also rumored to want to bring in a few new faces during the January transfer window to keep his promotion bang-wagon on track.

A name linked with the club is 19 year old Scottish sensation James McFadden from Motherwell.

It hasn't been confirmed by anyone at the club at this time, and with Jarrett, Dinning and Mitchell all playing well in the centre of midfield, Jewell may feel a valuation of around £1 million is too high.
