in action, and took the opportunity taking more than 1200 fans to Bloomfield Road.

Mario Melchiot flanked a defensive parternship of Granvqist and Bramble, who looked assured all game apart from a defensive mix up which led to Blackpools equaliser.

Prior to that, Wigan were strong and took the lead through Valencia, given a run in central midfield; and boy did he take his chance! The midfielder was superb in the centre and opened the scoring with a good effort.

Even after Blackpoold equaliser, Wigan looked strong. Emmerson Boyce and Leighton Baines were two players to get a second half run out, and Wigan scored the decisive goal through David Cotterill.

Wigan should have doubled their lead before the equaliser, Jason Koumas's free kick ricochetting off the crossbar and fell for Agohawa, whos attempt was saved by the opposition goalkeeper.

Former Wigan player Mike Flynn got a round of applause from the Latics faithful on a good night all round for Wigan Athletic.
