Despite a stop start season, including Camara missing two months due to the African nations, the speedy forward finished the season with 12 goals in 24(4) games, an average of a goal every game.

Camara played under Redknapp when he swapped Pompey for Southampton two seasons ago, and it would seem that Pompeys savious wants to renew an old partnership with Henri.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Redknapp said: "I like Henri Camara. But i haven't spoken to Paul Jewell at Wigan."

He aded: "Whether he would sell him, i don't know."

Latics manager Paul Jewell is adamant that his top Premiership goalscorer will not be leaving the JJB Stadium, Whilst the striker himself has made it clear that he is finally settled with Wigan, after spells with Celtic and Wolves went stale.

Heres hoping Camara is still wearing a Latics kit come kick off in August.
