Preview: Kick up the Brum for Sorry Latics

Mirroring last seasons collapse, Wigan have failed to win any of their last seven league games; and have failed to score since Marcus Bents strike against Reading over a month ago.

With Sibierski joining Heskey on the Doctors table, under-fire Chris Hutchings has just David Cotterill, Julius Agohawa and Marcus Bent to choose from; with them managing one goal between them to date.

Mario Melchiot is set to start against his former side - who have enjoyed a solid start for a promoted club - but winger Valencia faces a fight to be fit in time.

After last weekends shocking performance - which Chairman Dave Whelan slammed as "very dissapointing" (state the obvious) - Hutch knows the pressure is on his side to win their first away game of the season.

And with a difficult November ahead, three points are needed to halt Wigan's slide towards the bottom three of the Premiership.

Hutch said: "We've worked hard in training this week, got back to basics, and hopefully we can get back on the winning track on Saturday.

"Birmingham have been playing well without getting results, a bit like ourselves, and we're looking forward to playing them."

Both sides sit on eight points with three other sides and would welcome three points this weekend.

Michael Brown is one card away from a one-match ban after picking up four yellow cards already this season.

Ones to Watch

Olivier kapo is enjoying cult status at Birmingham, adding abit of European flair to a side who, like Wigan, are failing to pick up points this season.

My Prediction
