Preston Tickets Sold Out

The Latics were given just 3,500 for the game and most of these tickets were bought by season ticket holders.

However there were a small number still available this morning and supporters slept in their cars to get the chance of a ticket.

Chief Executive Brenda Spencer told the club's official website:"When the fixture list came out at the beginning of the season we knew this was going to be a huge game for us, but I don't think anyone could have imagined just how important it would become. I've never known a clamour for tickets like this in over 15 years at the club!"

JJB Stadium ticket office manager Andy Forsyth added:"It was incredible to hear that some fans had slept in their cars overnight and that others had arrived to start queuing at 4am this morning. My staff at the ticket office have been superb in dealing with the demand for the Preston game and it all bodes well for the big games that we all hope we'll be dealing with in the near future"!
