The Football Association have rescinded Jason Pearce's red card after an appeal by Wigan Athletic manager Gary Caldwell.

During Latics' 2-0 defeat at Millwall on Tuesday night, the centre-back received a straight red card for an aggressive but fair challenge on Aidan O'Brien.

The tackle led to several players from both sides getting involved in a heated encounter. The Lions' Ed Upson was also sent off along with Pearce.

However, the decision has been overturned and the 27-year old will be able to play the last three games of Wigan's campaign.

Pearce can now face Brighton & Hove Albion (home), Wolverhampton Wanderers (home) and Brentford (away).

In other news, Martyn Waghorn will miss the last three games after he was also sent off at the Den for kicking out.

Also, Norwich City's Josh Murphy has extended his loan spell at the DW Stadium until the end of the season, as Caldwell's men are destined to drop to League One.
