Hagen told the club's offical website: "I spoke to the National Coach who knows Steve Bruce very well who said not only was he a great manager but also a great human being.
"Steve Bruce is a good guy and it was very easy for me to say yes once I had spoken to him on the telephone and I'm looking forward to working with him."

Supporters are hoping that the Panzer grows to become as iconic a figure as Arjan De Zeeuw at the club, if that is possible.
Meanwhile, Ross McCormack is going to decide about his future between now and the end of the season, but is happy at Moterwell.
"I'd been saying for months that, no matter what happened during the transfer window, I was going to be here until the end of the season because I want to remain here," said the 21 year old striker.
