Palace confirm Wigan's Boyce bid

Palace have already lost Fitz Hall to Wigan and the London outfit would not want to lose one of their most important players. However, thedefender has just one season left on his current deal and could leave the club for nothing next season.

Palace boss Peter Taylor said: "There has been a bid, but, as far as i am concerned, we have not yet given an answer."

"Emmerson is in the final year of his contract, so this is something we have to think about."

Boyce made 77 appearances for Palace since signing from Luton in the summer of 2004, he could now follow Hall to Lancashire.
