Ormerod joins on initial loan deal

The initial one month loan deal has a clause in it meaning that the deal can be extended until th end of the season if all parties are happy with the arrangement.

Ormerod joined the Saints for £1.75 million in 2001 and went on to score 11 goals in 48 starts for the Premiership side.

The deal is expected to become perminant in the summer for a fee of around half a million.

As previously said, the 28 year old will go into the squad for the game with Nottingham Forest tomorrow, although he is expected to be a substitute.

In other news, it was a sad day for Tranmere Rovers and former Latics frontman Simon Haworth.

The Welsh internation striker has had his contract at the Prenton Park club terminated by mutual consent.

In 2004 Haworth broke his leg in a game against Brentford and has failed to recover fully. He made two starts and substitute appearance since the injury but suffered setbacks.
