The Cameroon international left back told the Wigan Evening Post: "The most important thing is to make the fans happy, and to do that we must win the games.

"I like to give everything I have in matches, and let the fans know what you do for the team. It's not my specific ambition to play against Fulham, my ambition is to be fit and be ready to make a difference.

"My fitness is good but I've not done a pre-season and I am going to train hard and then I'll be ready to play."

Jason Koumas should be fit, but Denny Landzaat and Antonio Valencia are out with an eye injury and knee injury respectively.
