The French international winger has been the subject of summer interest from a number of clubs with Birmingham City lodging an £8 million offer that was swiftly rejected.

Now, it would appear that the temperamental 24 year old is set to leave the club after being said to have stormed out of Christopher Park on Friday following Martinez' failure to grant him a move away from the club.

There has yet to be official word on the ongoing saga, but Wigan Athletic are believed to have find the former Newcastle player two weeks wages, the equivalent of £70,000. He was also left out of the squad for Saturday's 4-0 humiliation at home to newly promoted Blackpool.

Martinez have revealed that he did not think N'Zogbia was 'mentally ready' for the game with Blackpool and The Sun is reported that N'Zogbia is desperate to leave the club.

Their source says: "Charles is desperate to get out of Wigan. He wants a new challenge and feels the club is not being straight with him."
