N'Zogbia set to remain with the Latics?

However that is what seems likely should manager Roberto Martinez be believed.

Speaking in today's Wigan Observer, the Latics boss has stated that N'Zogbia has not handed in a transfer request and he was left out of the squad for the Blackpool game as he was not 'mentally right' after his international duty with France.

The 24 year old was rumoured to be on his way to Sunderland, but Martinez is believed to have had a showdown meeting with the winger on Sunday and convinced him that the DW Stadium is the best place to grow as a footballer.

Also in today's Wigan Observer, Roberto Martinez revealed that there was no training ground bust up and that N'Zogbia was not on strike. He also revealed that the club have not fined the winger £70,000, or two weeks wages.

On lookers will still be sceptical as to why such a key player would be left out of the game with Blackpool, but Martinez did state his opposition to the mid-week internationals in his programme notes.

With Victor Moses raring to go and supposed weakened opposition, it is not beyond the realms of possiblity that N'Zogbia was purely rested for the game.

Only time will tell as to the true outcome, but as Mudhutter has stated, one thing is for sure, there is plenty of rubbish being written on the issue as Steve Bruce goes on the attack by tapping up  N'Zogbia via the media.
