Norwich snap up Wright

Nigel Worthington has taken the right back to Carrow Road after Matthieu Louis-Jean suffered an injury and looks set to be out for a number of weeks.

It is unclear at the moment whether the deal could be made permenant should both sides be happy with the arrangement. Wright has fallen down the pecking order at the JJB Stadium after the arrivals of Pascal Chimbonda and Ryan Taylor over the summer.

He was originally signed the previous summer as replacement for Nicky Eaden, but Wright failed to keep the ageing full back out of the side prior to his Nottingham Forest move this summer.

Manager Paul Jewell told the club's official website: "Wrighty has done nothing wrong, he is an outstanding professional whose attitude has never been anything but excellent.

"However, he understands that his chances have been restricted and that he has fallen behind Pascal Chimbonda and Ryan Taylor for his preferred position of right back.

"Norwich manager Nigel Worthington asked whether he could take him on loan and I have agreed. Hopefully, he will get some much needed first team practice and be ready should we need to call upon him."

Meanwhile Emerson Thome is part way through his loan spell at Derby County and is set to line up for the Rams tonight against Wolves.

He played in Derby's 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend with another former Latic, David Graham, scoring for Wednesday.
