No Watford debut for Johansson

Andreas Johansson
The Swedish international joined just a week ago from Djurgarden. He is lacking match fitness with the Swedish season having finished some time ago.

Johansson has had to endure a "mini pre-season" in preparation for his debut and it seems as though the Watford game will be too soon for him.

Jewell told the club's official website"Saturday will be too soon for Andreas although he is doing well and is looking much sharper. I just feel we should be fair to him in terms of not throwing him into the action before he is ready and fortunately, with us having won our last three games, we do not have to rush his first team bow. What's more, it wouldn't really be fair to the lads in the squad at the moment if we brought him in and left someone else out.

"He's had a lot to adjust too over the last week or so in terms of a new country, a new life and a new style of football so we will give him every chance to adapt before giving him a game. However, ideally we'll give him a run out for the reserves next week at Rotherham and I know that he has his sights set on that game too."
