Grant Holt, Rochdale's 23 year old striker has attracted attention this season. He's managed an impressive 21 goals in 33 appearances so far this season for playoff chasing Dale and has had a number of clubs watching him.

It took him just seven minutes to score against Lincoln at the weekend and Jewell is rumoured to be among his admirers. However, the fact that he has picked up 12 bookings so far this season is putting Jewell off.

With regards to ex-Latics it has been a mixed weekend.

Arjan De Zeeuw, now captain of Portsmouth put through his own goal as his side lost 2-1 to Aston Villa in the Barclays Premiership.

Andy Liddell was the hero of the day for Sheffield United as they knocked West Ham out of the F.A. Cup to fix up an away day at Highbury this weekend.

Lids' scored in the first half with a stunning free-kick before the Hammers equalised, forcing the game to extra time and penalties. The penalties were a nightmare for both sides with a number of awful penalties being taken. Up stepped Liddell, with the usual stop-step technique and a cooly placed penalty.

They won 3-1 on penalties.

Meanwhile Paul Mitchell, who has just had his loan extended at the MK Dons played a full 90 minutes for them as they beat Huddersfield Town 2-1 pushing the Milton Keynes side closer to safety. Goals from McLeod and Platt for Danny Wilson's side cancelled out Andy Booth's opener.

Magno Vieira managed just over an hour for Carlisle in their 2-2 draw with Gravesend in the Conference. He was replaced by Murray after 63 minutes, at which point United were 2-0 up.

Back from our Springfield Park days and former right back Matt Carragher has settled at Macclesfield Town and was man of the match for them as they beat struggling Cambridge 1-0, Potter got the goal.

Moving North of the border and Derek Stillie is still number one at Dunfirmline and he played the whole game as they beat Aberdeen 2-1. Mehmet and Donnelly got the goals for Dunfirmline.
