Roberts became Latics' first signing of the new millennium on February 18th 2000, when he signed a £450,000 deal from Wrexham.
He has Welsh international caps at both under 21 and senior level and has netted 10 goals from 60 Wigan appearances, his first coming at Bournemouth on the final day of the 1999-2000 season.
The Humbersiders will now be hoping he can add a few goals to their tally and help them close the six-point gap between themselves and the three automatic promotion berths. Hull currently occupy fifth place and hold a strong play-off place.
