Nash joined the club in a £150,000 move from North End, but has yet to make a first team appearance for the club.

Steve Bruce told the club's official website: "Nashy's a good goalkeeper and a terrific professional. We're in a very fortunate position to have three Premiership standard goalkeepers at the club.

"At the moment, Carlo's the one who's been missing out and when Stoke enquired for him, I felt it was in Carlo's best interests to get some much-needed action.

"I can't speak highly enough of him as a professional and he goes with our blessings, knowing that he could return if anything happens to Kirky (Chris Kirkland) or Polly (Mike Pollitt)."

Meanwhile, Ryan Taylor made his return from injury for the reserve team last night. He played 60 minutes in the 4-1 defeat to Sunderland at the Robin Park Arena.
