McGibbon move nearly done

McGibbon has always been out of favour with Jewell, evcer since the start of the season when he was refused a contact extension.

The arrivals of De Vos and Jackson didn't help the Northern Irishman's cause.

Pat has struggled to cement a place in the team and has only made a handful of appearances. He also hobbled off in the last game with another hamstring injury.

He now looks set to join Scunthorpe in a cut price move of around £50,000 before his contract expires in the summer and the Latics would lose all money on him if he left on a bosman.

Scunthorpe have two of McGibbon's former Wigan team-mates in their ranks in Carl Bradshaw and Peter Beagrie, with the latter thought to be instrumental in his proposed move.
