Nathan Ellington played most of Saturday's game, but Mahon came on for the final fifteen minutes and impressed with his goal that sunk Cardiff 2-0.
McCulloch however, has managed 12 goals so far this season from that position and will be pushing hard for a return to the starting eleven.
Jewell told the club's official website:"Jig (McCulloch) is fit, so it's up to me to make a decision on him, one or two needed a breather last week and one or two were chomping at the bit. We got a good result at Cardiff so it's a tough decision for me to make."
