McCarthy delighted at McArthur addition

They played together with Hamilton is Scotland and now the McCarthy-McArthur duo will join forces in the blue of Wigan Athletic, a fact that excites the younger of the two.

James McCarthy already has the benefit of a seasons Premier League experience, but he believes that McArthur will be a big success with the Latics and cannot wait to play alongside his reunited teammate.

Speaking to the club's official website, McCarthy said: "Another great signing and hopefully he'll do well here.

"He's settling in well with the rest of the boys, enjoying himself and hopefully it's just a matter of time before he gets in the team.

"James will give us a bit of dig in the middle. He likes to get on the ball and spray passes across the park and I'm sure once he gets in the team he'll do well."
