M'Bami deal off, Huseklepp in sight

The news was speculated earlier on in the week which commented on the fact that M’Bami wanted a long-term contract, while the club was only willing to offer a short terms contract, probably until the end of the season.

M’Bami played twice in the reserves and did well enough to earn himself an offer from Roberto Martinez. Now that the deal has broken down, it seems that Martinez will wait until January before he adds any more players to his squad.

Marlon King has been linked with a loan move away from the club, with Newcastle United apparently keeping tabs on the striker. However, he featured in the 3-1 win over Chelsea, playing a part in Paul Scharner’s goal which sealed the win in the 90th minute.

Norwegian striker Erik Huseklepp has been linked with a move to the DW stadium. Huseklepp, who plays for SK Brann, Paul Scharner’s previous employers, has scored 21 goals in 125 appearances for the Norwegian side. At only 25 years old, a move for the striker could be in the offing in January when the transfer window opens.
