Martinez reveals recruitment drive

The club have been linked with any number of players, mainly those from South America, with particular focus on Columbia, and further afield, Honduras.

Martinez refused to confirm on deny any of the speculation but he would confirm that he is interested in a number of players and is hoping to add a number of diamonds to the squad in January.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Martinez said: "Any player from Honduras or Columbia, because of the links we have with the players here, has been mentioned.

"Any name you can come up with, we've been linked with, and we've been checking these players. I can guarantee you won't go far wrong by linking us with players because we need to follow as many as we can.

"But, until we get the right characters, then we won't be making any decisions because we're the kind of club who needs diamonds. It's no secret we need players, even though we've been fortunate with injuries.

"But the squad is light and the moment we get one or two injuries, the squad is really stretched. With the huge amount of games in front of us, we need players in."

Meanwhile, there has been no news from the club regarding tonight's fixture with Bolton. Although the pitch at the JJB Stadium is likely to be clear of snow, it is unclear whether the game will be called off due to adverse weather, and the ensuing dangerous roads in the region.

As soon as there is any news we will be sure to pass this on to supporters.
