Martinez back home tomorrow

Martinez is expected to sign a 3-year-deal tomorrow and be unveiled at a press conference on Thursday. Fans will be optomistic as to what can be achieved under Martinez as he has been talked about as a manager who has a fantastic future in the game.

At the age of 35, Martinez is one of the youngest managers in the game and has received glowing accolades fromother managers. His attractive, attacking style of play whilst encouraging Swansea to play passing football has seen him linked with many managerial roles but has stayed committed to Swansea.

The desire to play in the Premier League has hit Martinez though. Coming 'home' as some fans has said is a good way of summing up Martinez and he would only have left Swansea so early after signing a 5 year contract for Wigan.

Martinez will have a tough job on his hands with Antonio Valencia, Paul Scharner, Olivier Kapo, Marlon King and Jason Koumas all expected to leave in the summer along with most of the current crop linked with moves away from the club. The good thing is that Martinez has contacts in Spain and will be expected to continue finding raw talent and unearthing real gems. Hugo Rodallega will be able to converse with the manager in Spanish which is a good thing to have as well.

The summer will kick off on the transfer front very soon for the club with Angel Rangel and Jordi Gomez being linked with the club after impressing at Swansea but this is just speculation. What can be said is that Martinez will have the backing of everybody at the club which is what is needed with a new, young manager. This will be an exciting summer for the club and an interesting season.
