Lucky break for Lee Mac

The club feared the worst, and took the Scottish international to Wigan Royal Albert Infirmary for emergency scans.

The scans showed no breakage.

Head Physiotherapist Alan Tomlinson said: "Lee was in some discomfort, which is why we moved fast to get the foot scanned. It's great news that nothing's broken, but because of the severity of the bruising, it's impossible to make a clear diagnosis at this stage.

We've got a pretty good record when it comes to getting players back from injury quickly, but obviously we cannot afford to take risks and we will be giving Lee the best possible treatment."

'Lee's upbeat himself and is thinking positively about making a comeback as soon as possible."
