Letting in eight is new - Pollitt

Last updated : 10 May 2010 By BBC Sport

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "I don't think I've ever conceded eight before.

"Not even in Bolton Boys' Federation, I don't think I have conceded eight, not even at school. Especially not in professional football, that's certain."

He added: "It's never nice, but it was just one of those days. Everything they seemed to hit went in and everybody said I had no chance with the goals.

"I'm looking back and trying to think , well, could I have done better with any of them but you just think not really.

"I made a couple of saves and it still fell straight to their feet and they're tapping them in so it was frustrating but it was still nice to play in the game.

"It's not nice going into the summer now with that hanging over you but you've just got to try and forget about it and put it behind you and have a good break and come back refreshed.

"I've not really spoken to the gaffer but there's something there on the table, in whatever capacity I don't know. So we'll see, but it's more than likely I'll be back at Wigan next year."
