Brett Ormerod
Jewell has been a long term admirer of Ormerod and moved for the striker just over a month ago during the January transfer window. He was knocked back by the Saints who were short on fit strikers.

Henry Camara has since been in impressive form for the South Coast club and their boss Harry Redknapp now appears happy to let the 28 year old striker go.

The deal is initially a one month loan with a view to a perminant deal. It is unclear whether he will join in time to make the squad for Saturday's trip to Nottingham Forest.

Boss Paul Jewell confirmed the move to the club's official site, he said: "I've spoken to Harry Redknapp this morning and it looks as though a deal to bring Brett Ormerod here will go through in the next 24 hours. The players is keen to come here which is good news and therefore everything is in place to bring him here on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

"He's a player I've admired for a long time and I've tried to sign him several times before but it's never quite worked out yet. However, this time everything looks positive and as long as there are no last minute hitches, it should go through for the weekend. Several clubs are interested but I think he wants to come back up north and therefore he feels we are perfect for him on and off the pitch.

"He's a hard worker and though things haven't quite worked out for him at Southampton, he has done well for them whenever he has had a run of games. I've been keen to get another striker in for some time as everyone knows and I think Brett fits the bill very well. He knows he can't expect to go straight into the side but he will be a good addition for us and will be a great asset as far as I am concerned."
