The Brazilian striker was given a Portuguese passport mid week and is now elligible to play for the Latics first team. He made the bench on Saturday which tells just how highly Paul Jewell rates the youngster.

Jewell said about the youngster: "He's a kid who's been here a long time. He's got a super attitude. He's a Brazilian boy and I think he's going to be a good player.

"He's finally got his passport after a lot of hard work so we will be looking to sign him as a pro now and I think he's got a big future.

"He doesn't lack in confidence and he's got a great attitude. I think he's been home once in two years and that shows how keen he is to become a footballer.

"It's early days for him, but I certainly wouldn't be frightened of putting him in if I had to."

Don't be suprised to see him on the bench on saturday at Burnley, and even more so, don't be suprised to see him make his debut.
