Latics in Hulse bid?

Any transfer for the striker would be anything between £750,000 and upwards of £1million. That fee would be reduced as a result of the 12 months left on Hulse's contract.

Gradi commented on how honourable the decision to announce his desire to leave was, thus allowing the club to attain some cold hard cash for the player before he could leave on a bosman free in just 12 months.

Gradi said, "Rob has acted honourably. He told us he wanted to go and that is very different to saying he is going to see out his contract and go for nothing.

"Rob has been very honourable in that he feels he owes the club something. All we have to do now is to decide how much we are willing to accept for him.

"It is up to him where he wishes to go. We will let him and his agent decide what his best for him but rest assured we will look to invest the money in players but it won't be all of it."

Meanwhile Cardiff City have also been linked with the striker alongside a host of other clubs including, West Brom and Everton. Gradi commented "We have had one official bid for Rob Hulse and I can assure you it's not from Cardiff City."

Is it from Mr Jewell... Only time will tell.

Rumour Rating 4/5.
