Hutchings has made no secret of his desire to have three goalkeepers in hte Latics squad. With John Filan retiring to the sun of Australia, and Mike Pollitt yet to agree a new deal, the new manager wants to add another 'keeper to the squad.

Also being linked with the club is former Newcastle defender Oguchi Onyewu who was released at the end of the season.

Midfielder Chris Brutn has decided to stay with Sheffield Wednesday, rather than top flight football with either oursevles or Fulham. He said: "I've got another year left and unless the club want to sell me I'll be staying.

"I want to play at the highest level and I want to get there sooner rather than later and with Wednesday. There's nothing sorted yet. Nothing much has happened and that's about as far as it goes at the moment."

And finally, Andreas Johansson seems set to leave the club this month when his contract expires. The Swede as he is known, has had a tough time with the club and never really got a run in the first team.

Johansson leaves with no hard feelings from wither the club or the supporters and he is certainly wished all the best for the future.
