Latics go down at St James'

Scott Parker put the Toon ahead in the 38th minute with a header from Shola Ameobi's cross.

Lee McCulloch equalised in the 59th minute with a curling shot from the right-hand side of the penalty area.

Unfortunately however, Shola Ameobi grabbed the winner for Newcastle in the 64th minute.
