West Ham, Sunderland, Norwich and Ipswich and Reading are other names that were expected to be up there too, and so they are.
But many will be suprised with the Latics as we sit pretty in 6th place just five points off an automatic promotion place.
Jewell's young squad is showing all the potential and have already shocked many big teams during his time in charge and promotion this season cannot be ruled out.
Three points at home to Burnley (6th bottom) on Saturday would be very welcome at the JJB.
