Fatih Tekke
The club moved for Tekke in the summer but were rebuffed by Trabzonspor who were not prepared to sell their star striker.

The Turkish club are still unwilling to sell, but the player himself is said to be delighted with Wigan's displays this season, and wants to join the Premiership's most entertaining team.

Tekke's agent Ceylan Caliskan has been quoted: "Wigan have been watching Fatih for nearly a year now. They made a really good offer in August, but it was turned down by Trabzonspor, but I didn't break contact with them and recently they came and watched Fatih play against Besiktas.

"They're going to make a new offer to Trabzonspor and Fatih in January. Portsmouth have also made enquiries for Fatih."

The Latics are also said to be interested in team-mate Huseyin Cimsir who plays in midfield.
