Latics appoint Forsyth

New Boss: Bruce
Mr Whelan targeted Forsyth after being put off a move for Birmingham's Steve Bruce when the Brummies demanded a fee of £3 million for the man with a perm. He was also unwilling to negotiate with a woman (Karen Brady) and felt it best he looked elsewhere.

The BBC on the other hand were delighted to get rid of the over paid ancient relic that is Forsyth, and should the former Play Your Cards Right presenter agree terms, he could be instilled as gaffer before the Arsenal game at the weekend.

Whelan, before putting his fist on his chin, said: "It's a bit like the generation game in the fact that Bruce is willing to accept a wage from the stone age. He was by far and away the cheapest manager on the market which helped to mark Mr Forsyth out as the leading candidate."

Terry Wogan is said to be wanted as assistant to Forsyth. The BBC are also keen to offload Wogan after he caused public outrage by once again commanding a fee for his "work" on the Children in Need project.

Working alongside John Benson, the trio will make up the oldest management team in the Universe, even pre-dating the birth of our Solar System itself.

PLEASE NOTE: This hasn't really happened and Whelan didn't really say that. It would just be funny if he did.
