First up, and we're all waiting for the latest with regard to Nathan Ellington's switch the West Brom.

Most supporters do not want the Duke to leave the club, but are resigned to him leaving.

Wigan chairman Dave Whelan wants the cash up front, but the Albion are only prepared to give it in installments! Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace said he expected the deal to go through this morning, but we haven't heard anything yet.

Whilst Latics boss Paul Jewell has said that he doesn't think the Duke wants to leave. He told BBC Sport: "I'm not 100% sure he wants to leave but that is what his agents tell me. Maybe I'm wrong about it but that is the impression I get when I see him."

Whilst the same source is today quoting that the move is complete and the Duke has signed a four year deal.

Meanwhile as replacement, there are three names being touted.

Dean Ashton is the big one. The former Crewe striker is being linked with a move to the Latics in exchange for David Wright and five million pounds.

There are also sources that suggest this is rubbish and that only Wright will be moving for a fee of £350,000.

Ashton would be a great addition to the Latics squad and a move back to the Premiership may well give him the opportunity to push for an England place, ala Andy Johnson.

Whilst the other two names are Iain Hume of Tranmere and Matt Fryatt of Walsall. Both are very exciting young strikers and are expected to fetch a figure around the £1,000,000 mark.
