Landzaat set for Spain?

The Dutch international held transfer talks with Espanyol weeks ago.

Despite Wigan making a counter-offer, believed to have matched AZ Alkmaars valuation and Espanyol yet to agree a fee, his agent Sigi Lens insists that Landzaat will not go back on his original decision to join the Barcelona based side.

"It is certain that several clubs have presented proposals for Landzaat. But the player has made a deal with Espanyol and he is not going to go into reverse gear."

Alkmaar have confirmed that talks between themselves and any potential suitors are ongoing and have stated that Landzaat will only move if they agree to it.

"We are not a candy store where you can put down ten cents and walk away with something very good. We jsut hope everything works out for Denny."

Any hope of signing the Dutch International seemingly hangs on whether Espanyol can agree a fee.
