The tall goalkeeper has been impressed by what he has seen so far in preseason and told the club's official website. "He'll score goals, for definite. He's also a really nice lad, speaks good English - which helps and I think he'll be a real hit at the club."
Kirland is also pleased the opening game of the season against Blackpool has been moved to the DW Stadıum. He added: "I'm glad the Blackpool game was moved to our place because I wouldn't have fancied going there on the opening day, it could have been very tricky.
"We always say that you need to get off to a good start in this league. The first 8-10 games can set you up for the rest of the season so it's important we get ourselves ready to hit the ground running."
